UGC Unveils Student Ambassadors for Academic Reform

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has unveiled the roster of NEP SAARTHI (National Education Policy - Student Ambassador For Academic Reforms In Transforming Higher Education in India) along with delineating their roles and responsibilities for this initiative.

NEP SAARTHI, initiated by the UGC, seeks to galvanize student involvement in advancing the mandates of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The overarching goal is to foster an environment where students actively engage with the community to spearhead reforms in higher education.

To kindle student participation and cognizance of educational reforms, the UGC has inaugurated the NEP SAARTHI initiative. It endeavors to recruit individuals exhibiting exceptional qualities such as outstanding personalities, adept communication skills, organizational acumen, creativity, a sense of accountability, and leadership prowess to conduct outreach programs.

Following nominations from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), the UGC has unveiled the identities of the chosen candidates.

"The UGC anticipates that involvement in this initiative will not only be personally enriching but also wield a significant impact on shaping the trajectory of higher education in India," expressed the university body.

Objectives:

- Foster awareness and advocacy of NEP 2020 initiatives among students on campus
- Catalyze and inspire student engagement in implementing NEP 2020 initiatives
- Establish a feedback mechanism to glean insights from students on the efficacy of NEP 2020 initiatives and address their concerns

Role of NEP SAARTHI:

- Serve as an ambassador to champion NEP 2020
- Spur awareness campaigns regarding NEP 2020
- Disseminate information pertaining to NEP 2020
- Amplify NEP 2020 initiatives on social media platforms
- Solicit feedback from students to enhance the execution of NEP 2020
- Offer guidance to students and other stakeholders on leveraging NEP 2020 initiatives for their benefit
