JEE Main 2024 Top Performer Advises: "Prioritize NCERT Books," Recommends Visharad Srivastava

JEE Main 2024 Top Performer: Visharad Srivastava from Maharashtra, aiming for computer science engineering at Indian Institute of Technology- Bombay (IIT-B), achieved a perfect score of 100 percentile in the recent JEE Main 2024 results.

"Computer science engineering is a captivating field, and IIT-Bombay offers excellent placement opportunities for CSE students," remarked the 17-year-old. If not IIT Bombay, he mentioned IIT Delhi as his second preference.

Starting his journey towards this goal in Class 7, Visharad focused on excelling in olympiads like those conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation. "My mindset for JEE preparation was shaped in Class 10, prior to which I concentrated on clearing such olympiads," he explained.

Even during the pandemic in 2022, he diligently prepared for both the term one and term two Class 10 board exams and swiftly transitioned to JEE preparation thereafter, securing a perfect score in Class 10.

"In Class 12, the board syllabus aligns with a subset of the JEE syllabus, facilitating preparation for both entrance tests and board exams," Visharad noted. Regarding subjects, he emphasized the importance of practice, highlighting the conceptual nature of maths and the logical aspect of organic chemistry.

In his last days of preparation, he focused on NCERT books for physics and chemistry. During the exam, he strategically allocated time, prioritizing chemistry, followed by maths, and dedicating the final hour to physics, considering it his strong suit.

Unlike many peers, Visharad didn't entirely abstain from social media but maintained a balanced approach, not letting it interfere excessively with his preparation.
